Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

My sense of style is definitely more on the classic or simple side, which to me, is a nice way of saying PLAIN. My closet is full of neutrals, with maybe a few colorful pieces that I could add to an outfit, but on a day to day basis, I’m a jeans and a nice top kinda girl. For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to think of some ways to subtly add in a little somethin’ somethin’ that seem a little festive, but nothing too over the top. Here’s two outfit ideas I came up with, and hopefully you can find a little inspiration!

#1

TOP – Cold Shoulder Blouse
Blouse | Blouse
When I first got this top, I really could not decide how I felt about it. But the more I played around and styled it, the more I really grew to love it. It’s so fun with the shoulder cut outs, but still classy. This one is pretty long, I think if untucked would look best with leggings. It’s currently on sale at Nordstrom in a bunch of cute colors – definitely worth checking out! I’m probably going to pick up at least one other color. I am wearing size small fyi.

JEANS – Skinny Jeans
Jeans
Super comfortable, yet sturdy jeggings that I’m really obsessed with right now. I bought them when Gap was having a 50% off everything sale, and purchased two other pairs as well. With some jeans, they end up being so stretchy that they wear away over time, and a get a bunch of weird holes in them. A pair of much more expensive jeans from Anthropoligie rubbed a hole on the inner thigh area after just a few months. I was pissed. So far, no signs of wear on them, and I’ve worn them SO much. Gap currently having a 40% off everything sale right now, good time to check them out!

SHOES – Sam Endelmen ‘Kit’ Booties

These are from a few years ago, so I’m going to give you links for similar burgundy boots that are super cute! I think these color shoes, or accessories, are a really fun way to add some Valentine’s flair, without having to be too over the top about it.

BAG – Kate Spade Top Handle Shoulder Bag

I also purchased this bag a few years ago at an outlet store, but will be linking some other super cute pale pink bags that are similar. Another really cute way to incorporate Valentine’s Day into your outfit.

TOP

I’ve had this top for a few years as well, it’s by Broadway & Broome (and from what I’ve looked online, it’s no longer sold??), so I linked some similar ones. It always gives me such romatic vibes, especially paired with the skirt like that. Love this top. So easy to dress up or down.

SKIRT

Here’s my Valentine’s Day subtlety again! I think this blush pink skirt is perfect for a Valentine’s outfit. The fit and flare is a really flirty skirt, great for a night out. This particular skirt was a hand-me-down (it’s BCBG), but I’ll link some similar ones.

BOOTS

Another pair of Sam Endelman boots – I guess I’m a fan. Over the knee boots are another great wardrobe staple that can easily be dressed up or down. Goes great with jeans/leggings, or with skirts and dresses. Linking some cute pairs!
