It isn’t a cliché to have a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear for no reason. I know I’m not the only one guilty of having a packed full closet, and yet feeling like I can never piece together an actual outfit I like. I might be able to give my closet a quick scan and feel like I have a great collection, but when it comes time to get dressed in the morning I’m left exasperated, storming out and picking up the same tee shirt off the laundry chair that I wear every week.
Life can be truly crazy sometimes. Especially when you’re in your twenties and have to do adult things but still feel like a kid, and want to call your mom for every little thing. I feel like sometimes I’m constantly trying to dodge the curveballs life is throwing at me. Scott and I are in the process of trying to buy a house and I feel like we just can’t catch a break. One week it’s realizing that our rent is increasing by 40% when the lease is up. The next it’s yet another offer falling through, or not even getting a response at all. It’s been a disheartening process. Not to mention all the other day to day craziness that shows up. The other day at nannying, the youngest got mad that mom was leaving and ended up breaking a pane of glass mid-tantrum. He wasn’t hurt luckily, but hello terrible twos!
Before I dive in, I just want to say that everyone is different, and what works for some people, doesn’t work for others. I want to share my experience, in case others are going through what I went through, but this doesn’t mean that my choice is the best choice for everyone. You feel me???
As much as I love going and walking around the mall (and counting that as my exercise for the day), I find myself more and more gravitating towards online shopping versus in person shopping. No dealing with lines, waiting for that saleswomen to open the dressing rooms for FOREVER, or even just finding the time to go and shop (hi busy moms and hustling ladies out there, looking at you!) Plus, I’m incredibly lazy and generally don’t like being around people. That probably isn’t where you can relate the most, but hey, it’s true.
I put together a list of some products that I personally love and recommend that would be great gifts for all the ladies on your list – maybe even a few of the guys too! And all of these are $20 or less, so definitely won’t break the bank. I’ve suggested who they might be good for, but really each item on the list would be good for just about anyone.
