If you follow along on Instagram, you saw that I recently put together a slider snack board for a collaboration with Regency Centers and Market Common Clarendon. Wanted to share more about how I put together my slider snack board here on the blog to share more deets about how to put one together, and a few tips and tricks!

This couldn’t have been easier to put together, but turned out awesome! Would be great for having people over as a delish snack with a fun presentation. Who doesn’t love a snack board? Seriously, throw it on a board and I’m a fan.

There’s a chance I have a note in my phone of other snack board ideas I want to create……it’s a problem.

Anyways! The sliders are easily the star of the show for this snack board, and I surrounded them with toppings of choices and fries as well! You of course could change things up depending on your preferences and what you wanted to incorporate to the board. Easy to get creative or just keep it simple. It’s impressive either way once it’s on a board pretty much.

making slider snack board

Ingredients

  • Ground beef (85%, or preference)
  • Mini buns, I used dinner rolls
  • Toppings of choice – pickles, ketchup, tomatoes, mustard, cheese, burger sauce, bacon, lettuce, etc.
  • Fries
  • Avocado oil (to season cast iron)

Kitchen Items

  • Cast iron – could use a regular pan as well, but I personally feel cast iron works best for these burgers
  • Wooden board – LOVE the one I picked up for this, such a good size and price point!
  • Air fryer (to cook fries)
  • Ramekin (for sauces)
  • Spatula

Slider Snack Board Recipe

  1. Preheat your cast iron to medium high and get it nice and hot (and probably a bit smokey – turn on your fan!) Add a little avocado oil to the pan.
  2. Add your frozen fries to the air fryer and cook while making the burgers (I’ve found 400 degrees and 13-15 minutes work for most types of frozen fries.)
  3. Separate the meat into 2 oz chunks, but touch/form them as little as possible!! I read that trick somewhere when it comes to burgers, especially smash burgers.
  4. Add the 2 oz chunks to the HOT + well oiled pan one at a time, and using your spatula press + flatten them down. Continue till all are in the pan (or as many as will fit). Salt each patty.
  5. Set timer for 2.5 minutes and DON’T TOUCH them. You want them to get those nice, crispy bits.
  6. After 2.5 minutes, flip. Add cheese if you want. Set timer for 2.5 minutes and again, don’t touch.
  7. Once timer goes off, remove from the pan. It’s time to assemble the board!

PS – I do 2.5 minutes each side for the sliders, but do more or less depending on your preference!

Snack Board Assembly Tips

Since my board was much longer than it was wide, I decided to assemble the sliders in a S shape. I think this would have worked well no matter the board shape.

This left various sectioned off pars of the board for me to add the sauce ramekin, any toppings, and the fries. I just did what I thought made sense with the toppings (pickles, tomatoes, lettuce), and then filled in fries in the rest of the area!

You definitely want to start your snack board assembly with whatever you want the star of the show to be. No star? Go with the biggest sized item. Assemble that to start, then assemble everything else around it.

Like I said before, the beauty of a snack board is that you can’t really mess it up. It’s all about getting creative and it will look great no matter what!
