Our engagement pictures are here and I AM SO EXCITED. Scott and I don’t really have any super nice pictures together, and honestly, our photographer killed it. We were pretty nervous and we’re def awkward, so I had no idea how it would go or how they would turn out. But there are so many good ones!

😭😍❤️
For anyone in the DMV – this is our photographer. We love her SO much already and can’t wait to have her apart of our special day! Highly recommend!
As for a wedding planning update, things have definitely started moving along planning wise. It’s still very very strange to plan something so big with so many unknowns about what next May will look like. I’m extremely thankful to have a wedding planner though for planning a wedding right now. I am dragging my feet to the max, and she is keeping me on track and making sure things are getting done, which has been very very helpful. If it were completely up to me I think I would be procrastinating the whole thing.
Since my last update, we’ve booked a DJ and photographer. Loosely booked an ice cream truck as well. Which doesn’t seem like nearly enough now that I’ve typed it out. I’m in the process of booking hair & makeup, and we’re currently reviewing catering proposals.
OH and I officially have my Maid of Honor, my bestest lady friend in the land. I kept it on the simple side with a card and this sweatshirt as a gift!
As of right now, we’re starting to think about what will we do if we do need to postpone, or if we should make that decision now. We have a family friend whose wedding was June 2021, and they already postponed for 2022.
We haven’t booked our caterers yet, which is obviously the largest chunk of money, and it’s in the back of our minds whether or not we should for our current date.
I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. I think I’ve been avoiding the thought and just trying to remain hopeful, but at a certain point we’ll have to make the decision. And it could be a lot easier of a process the less we have booked. Luckily, we do have our planner who will help with any possible rescheduling we have to do.
My thought is that we will get married in 2021. I don’t know what that will look like, but I know we don’t want to wait any longer to actually be married. Will that mean a small ceremony and a party later on? Maybe. Or maybe it’s a smaller guest list. Or the regular list but everyone needs to be masked up. Originally I felt very against having a ceremony with masks because it just sounded too sad to me and imo masks = people being very cautious and nervous, not fully able to enjoy themselves. But now, idk, I guess if that’s what has to happen then it will be what it will be.
Outside of getting to have the original wedding we envisioned, not sure which is my preference. I do know that either way we will be getting married next year.
Anyways, that all is too heavy and negative, so let’s just move right on from that real quick.
Next on the to do list – asking the rest of our wedding party. Catering! Excited for some tastings. Hair and makeup needs to have been booked like yesterday, so need to jump on that. Save the dates. And basically everything else as well. We haven’t started much on florals, so I suppose that’s coming up too!
Let’s end on a cute note –
