Recently had an actual reason to dress in something other than sweatpants or leggings, AND it was a chilly-ish fall day, so of course had to really go all out throwing together this casual fall outfit. Even did my hair any everything! Surprised I remembered how, tbh.
Scott and I had to go up to Frederick to fix something with our rental house and decided to make a day of it. With activities a bit limited right now, we’ll take any excuse to get out of the house! We lucked out with some seriously beautiful fall weather.
After fixing the house, we grabbed some lunch at the BBQ place we used to hit up on the regular when we lived in Frederick. Although I can’t eat any meat from there anymore because I was sick once after eating it (from a bug, not food poisoning) soooooo I’ve lost my taste for it.
We wandered around downtown Frederick and it was so nice to just aimlessly stroll around during a beautiful fall day. Felt almost normal!
We also hit up our absolute FAVORITE bakery in Middletown, MD, Deb’s Artisan Bakehouse. We were introduced to Deb because she is a friend of a friend and previously had been running a bakery out of her house. Her treats are SO so so so so so good. If you’re in the DMV, it’s worth the drive for sure. We grabbed the two apple desserts she had stocked to bring to our family Rosh Hashanah dinner, plus a jalapeƱo cheddar croissant for a pre-dinner snack.
Back to the outfit! Layered a flannel button down underneath a simple black sweater paired with my favorite fall Target jacket on top. The combat boots definitely give it the perfect fall touch. I wear these boots ALL fall long and they are super affordable.
This jacket is one of my all time favorite Target style purchases. Such a quality jacket at an amazing price point. SO glad they brought it back this year! Comes in a few colors and runs true to size (I’m wearing a medium).
Don’t love how the jeans bunched up in the boots, but I’m holding out buying new jeans since I’m still trying to lose weight. These are my only pair, but not sure how much longer I can get away with that! I’d recommend buying skinny jeans, or ones that tuck better within the boots! If you do pick up those jeans, they run large so I’d size down one!

So nice to have a day out and wearing a real outfit. Didn’t realize how much I missed it! Definitely appreciating the little things a lot more in 2020, anyone else??
