Hellllllo there. My last wedding update was back in October and WOW have things changed since then!
In my previous update, I explained how we felt that no matter what we would get married in 2021. That’s still true, however, we’ve decided to still get married on our original date in a micro ceremony, and postpone the bigger wedding celebration until 2022.
This was not an easy decision (although in the grand scheme of things obv wedding related decisions are not any kind of major problems). But ultimately we decided postponing, while a bit stressful to coordinate, would be the least stressful and most safe option overall.
We were at this point in the wedding planning where we didn’t have much booked and either needed to decide to move it or start speed planning for May. We kept putting off planning our big ceremony since there were just so many unknowns. It felt like the right move since we only had a few vendors to reschedule with, rather than getting closer to May and having to reschedule with so many. (and trust me when I tell you there are some big time fees associated with rescheduling!)
We went back and forth on this for MONTHS and months. Now being almost through January, I’m so glad we went with this decision. It would have been nothing but major stress up until the wedding if we were still planning the big one.
Now we’re fortunate enough to celebrate twice! Once with our immediately family and a few close friends, and again a year later with ALL of our family, friends, and loved ones.
Our new date is just about a year later, on 5/28/22. So essentially we’ll be having an epic 1 year anniversary party 🙂
Now that that’s all settled, and all of our vendors have been rescheduled, it’s go go go time for planning the micro!
SO much to do, because even though it’s a much smaller and toned down ceremony, it’s still a wedding with lots to coordinate. I need to sit down and make a big ‘ol to do list of things to start tackling.
A few things that can be checked off the list – I found a dress (decided to grab an inexpensive one rather than wear my original one for our small ceremony) and we picked our wedding colors. We have a potential caterer/planner as well. But that still leaves a LOT.
Definitely need to make that wedding to do list and jump on it asap!
