I know chick flicks can often induce a groan and an eye roll from your boyfriend, but not these. All of movies below have the romance factor you’re looking for, but not in the classic, cheesy romcom way that can be a bit too much sometimes.

2. Slumdog Millionaire

- Boy who grew up in the slums finds himself on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire hoping a childhood love will be watching. He is one question away from winning it all. Authorities don’t believe someone like him could possibly know all the answers, so we relive his life and all his experiences that have led him to knowing the answers.

3. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

- What if after a bad breakup you could get all memories of that relationship deleted from your brain? Would you do it, or are the memories worth the pain? Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are complicated individuals with a loving, yet dysfunctional relationship that you get to see play out in such an interesting way.

4. Garden State

- A depressed struggling actor is called home for his mothers funeral and forced to face some issues from his past. Happens to meet a cute little weirdo who inspires him to make some changes. Amazing soundtrack!

5. Big Fish

- A son visits his father on his deathbed, hoping to discern fact from fiction in the stories his father has told throughout his life. Told in flashbacks, it’s easily one of the most visually stunning movies.

6. Crazy Stupid Love

- Amazing cast. Cals marriage is falling apart and enlists womanizer Jacob to help re-find his manhood. Easily one of my favorite movies.

7. Ruby Sparks

- Trailer
- Calvin struggling with writer’s block is given the prompt to write about a girl, and he creates his perfect dream girl. When he wakes up the next morning, he finds her in his apartment exactly as he wrote her.

8. Warm Bodies

- Trailer
- World plagued by zombies is suddenly changed when one zombie in particular starts to fall for a living girl.

9. Zombieland

- Trailer
- Another zombie movie. An anxious college student and tough guy meet two clever sisters in hopes of making it to an amusement park that is apparently zombie free.

10. Like Crazy

- Trailer
- Probably a little more heartbreaking than the other. A British student falls for an American while studying in the US. Their long-distance relationship is tested to the limits when she is banned from visiting the US after over-staying her visa.
