Looking for some of the best cozy and romantic fall date ideas?! This post definitely has you covered!
Nothing like those crisp temperature, beautiful leaves, and all the treats that fall has to bring, right?! So many fun and romantic ways to cozy on up for your day date or date night!

Visit a Pumpkin Patch
It obviously wouldn’t be a proper fall date idea list without this one right here! Pumpkin patches are a MUST. Bonus points if they have hay rides, a little market for some treats, corn mazes, and all the fun fall things. The patch we typically visit has apple cider slush and it’s the BEST. I’m thinking of trying to recreate that at home this year because I could easily drink it daily!
Carve Pumpkins
Really this is the part two to the pumpkin patch visit, but if you don’t have a patch nearby I know grocery stores sell pumpkins for carving!
Don’t forget your pumpkin carving tools – which are more necessary than you might realize. We’ve tried just using a knife from our kitchen and it does not work the same!
Have a Bonfire
If you have a backyard, grab yourself a fire pit and some cozy blankets and roast up some s’mores! Bonus points if you have good access to the stars!
However, if you’re in an apartment, you could always grab this indoor s’mores kit and pretend!
Check Out Local Events and Festivals
So many fun events happen in the fall! (and luckily they are outside so if you’re reading this in 2020 you can most likely easily be distanced!)
Look up “fall events near me” and I know a bunch will come up! Could be an Oktoberfest, beer tasting, chili cookoff, fall festival, etc. There are so many fun fall events to check out!
Go For a Scenic Drive
We all know the best part of fall is getting to see the beautiful leaves changing and falling! Best day date is to go for a long scenic drive and see all the stunning changing leaves nearby! Don’t forget a cozy drink for the drive, and a solid playlist.
Go on a Hike
Another great way to enjoy all the beautiful scenery fall has to offer! Don’t forget to bring some snacks.
Have a Photography Date
Bring your camera or your phone and go on an adventure to find all the perfect shots that capture the essence of fall.

Take a Walk Around Your Local College
There’s something about a college campus in fall gives you all the fall feels! Take in the old brick buildings with the fall foliage around them.
Visit a Haunted House or Forrest
Nothing like a haunted house to get you to cozy on up with each other!
Have Your Own Chili Cookoff
Each pick your own chili recipe to cook then do a blind taste test to see who made the best one! Would be a fun double date too.
Find the Best PSLs Nearby
Whether you’re surrounded by local coffee shops or Starbucks and Dunkin, have a mission of sampling and figuring out which PSL is the absolute BEST of them all.
(then let me know because I’m v curious which one will win!)
Have a Scary Movie Marathon
Another great excuse for snuggling up! Look up the best scary movies, or scariest (if you’re really feeling brave), and have a movie marathon. Grab popcorn and a cozy blanket, and that’s a perfect fall themed date night in right there!
Go To The Renaissance Fair
The perfect fall day date! Dress up, or don’t, and have a day at the Renaissance fair! Sample all the fun foods and drinks they have and take in those crisp temperatures.
Have a Picnic and Watch the Leaves Fall
Have a nice park nearby with some good fall scenery?! Pack up a picnic and spend an afternoon soaking it in!

Bake a Delicious Fall Treat
Baking and fall go hand in hand, right?! Have a day making all the autumnal treats! Each look up and pick a favorite, and spend an afternoon baking away.
Chocolate chip pumpkin bread is a personal favorite, so that’s my recommendation! But there are SO so so many delicious fall baked goods you could make.
PS – if you’re making something that is a batter, try cooking it in this fun pumpkin shaped waffle maker! We recently tried brownies and they turned out great!
Visit a Local Cidery or Brewery
Are you a cider or beer fan? Either way, it’s a great way to spend an afternoon. Make sure they have some good food options as well, and a nice space to hang out outside.
Take a Fall Inspired Cooking Class
A lot of cooking classes offer seasonal classes, so if you look up “cooking classes near me”, I’m sure you can find either a baking or cooking one with some delish seasonal dishes!
Find All the Seasonal Items at the Grocery Store & Taste Test
Once mid-September hits, pretty much every grocery store is well stocked with all the seasonal fall goods they carry. Hit up all the local grocery stores and grab what looks good, then do a big taste test!
Trader Joe’s is a good place to look for seasonal items!
Have an Afternoon at a Cozy Café
Nothing like sipping a hot cup of coffee on a brisk fall day and spending some time in a café! (or a cat café if you have one of those nearby!) Bring a book too.
Watch the Stars
Drive far enough out to avoid as much light pollution as possible, bring a blanket, and layout to appreciate and take in the stars! Helllllo romantic!
Visit a Farmer’s Market & Cook Together
Take a stroll around your local farmer’s market and see what looks good. Pick out a few things and make a delicious meal together back at home! You can either look up a recipe before shopping, or see what inspires you while strolling!

Movie Night in Your Backyard
If you have some good backyard space, or even a good sized patio, spend a night outside and cozy up with a good movie! This projector would be perfect!
Have a Ugly Sweater Competition
Hit up your local thrift store and make it a point to find the absolute ugliest sweaters you can! If you’re really feeling brave, go on a walk afterwards and see who gets the most stares!
Go on a Mission to Find the Best Fall Candles
Have a shopping date to find all the best fall scented candles nearby! And don’t limit yourself to pumpkin spice because apple scented candles are seriously underrated.
Search For The Best Bakery and Sample Their Treats
Go on Yelp and search for “bakery” then set the distance to be 20 miles and sort by rating. Now you’ve got the absolute TOP rated bakeries within 20 miles of you, time to take a trip and sample all the delicious fall treats! Maybe try out a few!
Which one is on your fall bucket list?! Let me know below!
